Grandma Z's Guest House offers a great alternative for those times when your home is overflowing with guests. When the family gathers for weddings, funerals, family reunions, town celebrations, or the holidays and you run out of bedrooms and bathrooms, Grandma Z's offers you an alternative that allows you to keep your guests close at hand without being underfoot.
When staying in the original unit of Grandma Z's Guest House located at 107 N. Hilltop Alta Vista, Iowa, guests have use of an entire house including a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, full sized refrigerator and stove, main floor laundry facilities, deck and a patio area equipped with a charcoal grill. The home features central air and is equipped with a computer with internet access (there is wireless access throughout the house) and satellite television.
Two bedrooms, each furnished with a queen sized bed, are located on the first floor together with a full bath and a laundry area. The couch in the living room converts to a full sized sleeper. One of the bedrooms has access to the deck through patio doors and offers a great view of the rising morning sun as well as the antics of fireflies on summer evenings. You'll find a ceiling fan in the other main floor bedroom that ensures comfortable summer sleeping. A third bedroom furnished with a full sized bed is located in the lower level of the home and is equipped with an egress window. A large family room, partial kitchen, bath with a shower and a single sleeper are also located in the lower level. The house will comfortably sleep nine. Towels and bedding are provided.
Guests can utilize the main floor washer and dryer plus there is a clothes line in the back yard. The back yard borders a farm field giving guests great privacy and quiet.
The house provides a smoke free and pet free interior. Pets can, however, bunk in the attached garage.
Grandma Z's is comfortably and attractively furnished. Our guests tell us that they find the facility to be very homey and comfortable. Guests find the house is sufficiently equipped to allow them to host a meal or entertain others while renting the Guest House. HOW DOES GRANDMA Z'S DIFFER FROM A HOTEL OR BED AND BREAKFAST?
When you stay at a hotel or a bed and breakfast, you are renting a room with shared access to common areas. At Grandma Z's, you are renting the entire house yet the cost of your stay is determined by the number of guests. You have access to the entire house and can easily do your own cooking, grilling, laundry, etc. Grandma Z's can easily be your home away from home.
The beds are fully made upon your arrival and we will launder the towels, bedding, etc. upon your departure. If your stay is for an extended period of time and you need to toss in a load of towels, etc., the laundry facilities are readily available.
